Marking its notable 15th anniversary, the Batangas Development Summit (BDS) assembled on December 1, 2023, focusing on the theme “Destination Batangas: Right Place, Right Time, Right Now.” This emphasized the province’s charm as a growing hub for advancement and development.
Distinguished speakers headlining the summit included Mr. Joey Radovan, the Country Head of Jones Lang-LaSalle-Philippines, accompanied by Mr. Jason Abraham, Senior Director for Office; Mr. P. Ryan Isip, Head of Capital Markets; and Mr. Charles McNaught, Director for Logistics and Industrial. The roster also featured Ar. Sylvester Wong, the National Chair of the Urban Land Institute-Philippines, and Amb. Jose Maria Cariño, the Former Director General of the Foreign Service Institute of the Department of Foreign Affairs. Batangas Vice Governor Mark Leviste represented Governor Hermilando Mandanas and delivered a keynote address.
Dr. Lalaine Manalo, Director of the Center for Batangas Initiatives, set the tone for the summit with her welcome remarks. The program unfolded with a series of insightful presentations from the esteemed speakers, each shedding light on different facets of Batangas’s potential and future.
Mr. Radovan, alongside his associates, delved into the real estate investment potentials of Batangas. Ar. Wong presented on sustainable land use within the province, emphasizing the importance of responsible development. Amb. Cariño explored possible and future initiatives to enhance Batangas’s vibrant art and culture scene.
The Batangas Development Summit has evolved into a pivotal annual conference, serving as a platform for discourse among stakeholders from various sectors and industries. Originally launched in 2002 as the biannual North Batangas Summit, BDS has garnered significant attention over the years. It has become a respected gathering where well-known personalities from diverse fields share their knowledge and insights, contributing to the province’s continuous advancement.
Closing the summit, Mr. Emmanuel Sator, the Senior Vice President for Administration at FAITH Colleges, expressed gratitude and provided closing remarks. FAITH Colleges, through the Center for Batangas Initiatives (CBI), organized the Batangas Development Summit 2023.
