Various universities across the country showcased their cutting-edge projects at Murata’s 2nd Robotics Competition, held on March 10 at the First Philippine Industrial Park (FPIP) in Brgy. Pantay Bata, Tanauan City, Batangas.

In the Free Style Competition, De La Salle Lipa emerged as the champion with their project “Voice Gest,” a voice recognition system designed for the hearing-impaired.

Technological University of the Philippines-Manila (TUP-Manila) secured the 1st runner-up position with their project “Rise of Agentic AI Robots,” while Batangas State University-The National Engineering University (BatStateU-TNEU) claimed the 2nd runner-up spot with “Project DAHAN,” an automated heart-rate assessment system for drivers.

BatStateU-TNEU also won the People’s Choice Award, while other participants, including Adamson University, Mapúa University, and PUP-Sta. Rosa, received consolation prizes.

The event was attended by representatives from the Department of Science and Technology-Technology Application and Promotion Institute (DOST-TAPI), Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), Erovoutika, and Murata, with a panel of experts serving as judges.

Before the competition, Murata and DOST-TAPI signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen support for technological advancements in the country.

Adding to the excitement, the Murata Cheerleaders delivered a special performance, incorporating advanced robotics and sensor technology.
