In a captivating showcase of visual storytelling, GMA Network and the documentary filmmakers of I-Witness, Howie Severino and Atom Araullo, present ‘Unmasked: A Photo Exhibit by Howie Severino and Atom Araullo’ at SM City Batangas’ Mall Atrium 1 from February 11 to February 18, 2024.

The SM Supermalls is the venue partner of the “Unmasked: A Photo Exhibit by Howie Severino and Atom Araullo,” featured photos from the field that captured the stories of people and places by the journalists encountered in their fieldwork.

The exhibit was attended by students from various schools in Batangas, including STI College Batangas, Lyceum of the Philippines University – Batangas Campus, as well as local media in Batangas.

Attendees were given a chance to engage with Severino, who graciously imparted his insights and expertise gained from producing the documentary. This presents a valuable learning opportunity for aspiring journalists and storytellers to glean from Severino’s esteemed position within the industry.

The photo exhibit includes scenes from the Drug War 2016 – 2022, the Taal Volcano Eruption of 2020 in Batangas, the COVID-19 Pandemic, Bangladesh, Hunger Pandemic, and The Island Without Land 208.
“Unmasked: A Photo Exhibit by Howie Severino and Atom Araullo” seeks to widen the audience for these stories and to motivate budding storytellers. It serves as a poignant reminder of journalism’s potency and the significance of narrating meaningful stories.
