There’s More To Gain: PWDIFF Community Launch and Antiifragility Webinar

The YAEHA Channel Youth Advocates by The LoveLife Project for Health & Environment Inc. invites you to the Persons with Digitabilities International Film Festival (PWDIFF) Virtual Community Launch on August 5, Friday with a repeat on Aug. 6, Saturday, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm for the screening of the videovoice participatory action research collaborative documentary movie “Pinoys with Disabilities’ Lives in a Day” and the YAEHA Voices video monologues by our YAEHA 2021 PWD Scholars.
The Persons with Digitabilities International Film Festival (PWDIFF) is a series of scheduled virtual and face-to-face caravan that aims to amplify the voices of Persons with Disabilities (PWD), Persons Living with Non-Communicable Diseases (PLNCD), Persons with Lived Mental Health Experience (PWLE), Persons with Lived Tuberculosis Disease and COVID-19 Experience, by screening movies for, about, or by PWDs, holding expert talks and testimonials on inclusion, accessibility, and PWD rights through one to two days festivals scattered throughout the year. It is made possible in part through a competitive contest grant by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts which we won for a second year this 2022.
Last year, eligible PWDs, PWLEs, PLTBEs, PLNCDs, and youth from low-income communities were taken in as scholars to the YAEHA Digitabilities Upskilling Creative Workshops where they learned about communication, digital content creation, and technology skills for livelihood. The YAEHA Scholars collaborated with other PWDs from around the country and participated in a videovoice action research where they created vlogs of themselves to answer the questions “what do they fear, hope for, why they are not accessing government services, and what will make them participate in the community, and what they are grateful for.” The collaborative video contributions were submitted to us and edited into a full documentary movie titled “PWD Lives in a Day”.
The PWDIFF and PWD Lives in a Day are produced by The LoveLife Project for Health & Environment Inc. in partnership with Asia-Europe Foundation’s Culture360, QC Persons with Disability Affairs Office, A2D, Cebu Disability Inclusion in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Network, YAEHA Channel, 1Breadwinners’ Network, and MSI Philippines computers.
The PWDIFF has other special pocket festival schedules: PWDIFF YAEHADEMIC Digital Health Community Premieres with a hybrid of face-to-face and virtual screenings of Wellness’kada Digital Tv Series from 9 am to 12 pm, PWD Lives in a Day official videovoice participatory action research documentary movie presentation, and Meantime Nanays movie.
The PWDIFF will also be integrating a webinar in the Program this year on “Resilience 2.0 in the New Normal: Antifragility for Mental Health and Livelihood” which aims to teach Filipinos self-care and self-improvement skills in the new normal, and the ability to thrive under pressure, despite of stressors, failures, mistakes, and unforeseen events like the COVID-19 pandemic; the main Persons with Digitabilities International Film Festival on October 20, 21, and 22; and, the PWDIFF Echo Festival on December 1 coinciding with World AIDS Day, until December 3, coinciding with International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
The registration fee or festival activity share is at only PhP150.00 with discounts for schools and civil society organizations who wish to participate as a group.
